The Duende Project Bio:
The Duende Project is the collaboration among Tony Brown, veteran performance poet; Steven Lanning-Cafaro (Faro), bassist/guitarist; guitarist and producer Chris Lawton; and drummer Chris O’Donnell.

Tony has been writing for over 40 years, and publishing and performing his work for over 30. A four-time Pushcart Prize nominee, his work has appeared in many journals and anthologies. He has traveled all over the country, slammed for the Worcester Poets’ Asylum, organized and hosted readings and reading series, and written on poetry for the website http://www.gotpoetry.com.

Steven’s been the featured bassist for many bands in the RI/CT/MA area over the years, and is an acclaimed bass teacher and virtuoso player of 4,5, and 6 string electric bass, upright bass, as well as an accomplished jazz guitarist.

As The Duende Project, they’ve spent nearly 8 years performing up and down the East Coast and have released five collections of their work, including the recent collection of work by the four-piece band, “Basement Takes.” Together and separately they have opened for and performed with artists as diverse as jazz bass genius William Parker, the Jeff Robinson Trio, poetry slam founder Marc Smith, and performance art legend Laurie Anderson.
