Laura E. J. Moran is a performance poet who, over the past twenty years, has toured the USA, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, and Romania. An interview with Laura by poet Jeffrey McDaniel can be found The Poetry Foundation’s April 2011 “Harriet the Blog.” Laura is the author of several collections of poetry: Improper Joy (2006, Stockport Flats,) Live Bait (CD, Great Divide, 2005,) and three one-woman poetry shows. NACL Theatre will produce her full-length play Last Words (based on the last words of the first one-hundred women legally executed in colonial America) in Fall 2013. Her hybrid novel Jump the Snake is due for publication by Stockport Flats Press in 2015. Laura was the 2011 Beverly Hiscox Scholar at Wilkes University where she earned her MA in Creative Writing in June 2011 and her MFA in June 2012. Laura Moran is also the curator of the First Fridays Contemporary Author’s Series in Narrowsburg, NY now in its eighth season. She lives in Pennsylvania near the Delaware River where the north and south branches of Calkins Creek meet.
